Getting your Sprinter serviced properly according to schedule is the best way to ensure you aren't caught off guard one day with a huge repair bill that you weren't expecting. Many times we can see them coming for a long time so you can budget for that day. Regular service maintenance will also reduce the likelihood of you ever even having to deal with a huge repair because things are less likely to break unnecessarily when you take regular care of your work van. Regular maintenance of your Sprinter Van helps ensure that its safety and operational reliability are maintained and that both you and your Sprinter Van are ready for the road ahead - and here in Calgary, that's usually a slippery road! Look no further than your dashboard for a service reminder from your Mercedes-Benz/Sprinter Maintenance System. It will track the distance driven and the time elapsed since your last service. It will also calculate service items that need to be performed and other required maintenance work. When the time comes, the system will inform you of the next necessary maintenance service through the multi-function display in the instrument cluster.
Scheduled Sprinter Maintenance
Mercedes Benz/Sprinter really only has two types of service intervals (and oil service): each interval alternates with the other but gets a new name each time, which really makes the Mercedes service tracking tricky. Here is a breakdown, applicable to most Mercedes Benz/Sprinter models, that will explain the two main service types.
Mercedes Oil Service This service is the most frequent and least costly service. The Service Interval System will let you know when it is time to change your oil, but a typical interval on a modern Mercedes Benz will be 8,000 - 10,000 km.
